China High conductivity pure copper rod - T1/T2/T3/TU1/TU2 electrical contacts / heat-conducting pipes / general substrate for precision instruments Manufacturer, Supplier

Purple copper rod is a type of purple red copper material, mainly composed of copper (purity ≥ 99.95%). It is classified as a copper alloy due to the addition of deoxidized or trace alloying elements, and is divided into four categories: ordinary purple copper, oxygen free copper, deoxidized copper, and special copper. Its conductivity and thermal conductivity are second only to silver, and it can withstand corrosion from atmospheric, seawater, non oxidizing acids, alkalis, and organic acids. It is widely used in the manufacturing of corrosion-resistant components such as heat exchange equipment, pipelines, valves in the chemical industry, as well as in electrical, refrigeration, and other fields.

Product Description

Copper Rod Overview

Copper rods have a much wider range of applications than pure iron. Every year, 50% of copper is electrolytically refined into pure copper for use in the electrical industry. The copper referred to here must indeed be extremely pure, containing at least 99.95% copper. Even trace amounts of impurities, especially phosphorus, arsenic, and aluminum, can significantly reduce copper's conductivity.

The presence of oxygen in copper (small amounts are easily introduced during copper smelting) greatly affects conductivity; copper used in the electrical industry must generally be oxygen-free. Furthermore, impurities such as lead, antimony, and bismuth can prevent copper crystals from bonding together, causing hot brittleness and affecting the processing of pure copper. This high-purity copper is generally refined using electrolysis.

Red copper is a relatively pure type of copper, generally considered to be close to pure copper. It has good electrical conductivity and ductility, but its strength and hardness are somewhat inferior.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the purity level of these copper rods?
Our copper rods are electrolytically refined to ensure high purity, typically reaching 99.95% to 99.99% copper content, making them ideal for electrical applications.
Why is it important for copper used in the electrical industry to be oxygen-free?
Oxygen and other impurities like phosphorus or aluminum significantly reduce copper's electrical conductivity. Oxygen-free copper ensures maximum efficiency in power transmission.
What processing services do you offer for copper bars?
We provide a variety of processing services including bending, welding, decoiling, precision cutting, and punching to meet specific project requirements.
What are the main differences between red copper and other alloys?
Red copper is known for its excellent electrical conductivity and ductility. While it is purer, it may have lower hardness compared to other specialized copper alloys.
What are the standard lengths available for these rods?
Standard lengths range from 1000mm to 3000mm, but we can provide custom lengths based on your specific request.
How is the product protected during shipping?
We use standard seaworthy packaging to ensure that the bright surface of the copper rods is protected from moisture and physical damage during transit.
